Like most of you I have really been enjoying this amazing weather we have been having in the UK for the past month … long may it continue! With hot weather comes summer dress and I wanted to share with you my favourites that I’ve been wearing over and over this past couple of weeks.
I normally prefer shorter dresses but I found this gorgeous ankle length dress from Topshop. It’s so light and airy, although you’re not able to wear a bra with it. It has cut out detail on the sides and is extremely low cut, however it still looks so chic and elegant and is perfect for summer BBQ’s. It buttons up at the front and the final button finishes just below the knee, giving a lovely little slit at the front. All in all it gets a huge thumbs up from me and is currently half price in the sale! Slightly annoyed I must admit as I did pay full price for it as it’s relatively new in, so grab a bargain ladies as I don’t think it will stay in the sale for long.
Now I’m not normally one to wear bright colours and I bought this next dress as part of an online order, fully expecting to send it back. However once I tried it on I fell in love, it’s my favourite dress this summer so far! I bought this from Zara two days before their sale started and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere since. If it crops up again though I’ll be sure to pop a link at the end of this post. Anyway back to the dress itself, it is so eye catching and the reds and pinks look beautiful together. Be careful when washing if you do manage to get your hands on this dress though as mine did shrink slightly.
Buttons are still so on trend and show no sign of slowing down. I have so many pieces containing buttons now, however when I came across another fashion blogger wearing this next dress I decided I needed to have it. It actually has long sleeves with a cute little tie (link to dress at the bottom of this post if you want to see the sleeves) but I preferred to roll them up. I will say one thing, this dress does crease extremely quickly so I would recommend wearing this on a day where you wont be doing a lot of sitting. Nevertheless it is so cute and I really enjoy wearing it.
Last but by no means least is this bandeau dress from New Look. Unfortunately this was bought last year so I doubt you can still purchase it. I was having a clear out recently and this dress was destined for the charity shop as I had never worn it, however I thought I’d try it on just in case before I said goodbye. I was very pleasantly surprised as I really liked it and couldn’t believe I almost got rid of it. Lesson learnt, I will never again throw any item of clothing away again before trying it on first!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and if you are interested in more of this seasons dresses, I will be doing a review of my recent purchases at Mango soon.
